Stella Vaughn Gusler Visitation and Memorial Service

Good Afternoon Beloved,

Please keep the Vaughn and Gusler families in your prayers as they mourn the loss of Stella Vaughn Gusler (Leon Vaughn’s sister).  The family will receive friends tonight, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8pm at Moody funeral home in Stuart and funeral services will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Tommy Shepherd officiating.

Mrs. Stella Vaughn Gusler, age 81, of Stuart passed away Sunday at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on Feb. 22, 1934 to the late Moir W. Vaughn and Sally Dollarhite Vaughn. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Vera Burnette, Ellen Handy; and two brothers, Willie and Cecil Vaughn. Mrs. Gusler was a 1951 graduate of Blue Ridge High School and was Valedictorian. She was a Shift Supervisor with DuPont for over 30 years and was a member of Stuart United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School.

Surviving are her husband, Leon B. Gusler of the home; one sister, Jane Lawson of Richmond; four brothers, Herman Vaughn of Vesta, Cotton Vaughn of Collinsville, Ray and Leon Vaughn both of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Tommy Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Patrick County Chapter, P.O. Box 1301, Stuart, VA 24171.

It’s Time to Spring Forward

Unfortunately, it is time for us to lose our extra hour of sleep this Saturday night / Sunday morning.  So don’t forget to push your clocks up one hour before you go to bed or otherwise you will miss all the donuts :-)!!!!


New Small Group Starts this Sunday!

This Sunday we will begin our New Small Group study of The Truth Project  with Fellowship, Coffee, Tea, and Donuts in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30am.  The DVD series will begin promptly at 9:45am because there is a lot to cover.  For those who need child care, my daughters will be covering the children’s Sunday School Classes and Nursery until the teachers arrive for their normal 9:45am classes.
